Elk Grove, Calif. – Celebrating American artistry and music is the aim of a new festival hosted by the City of Elk Grove and the Elk Grove Committee for the Arts this Saturday.  Art Americana will make its debut on the Old Town Plaza (9615 Railroad Street) this Saturday, September 19th from 11 am to 5 pm.

This first year event will include performances, demonstrations, readings and more.  The Faire will feature a large entertainment stage spotlighting a variety of music with deep American roots including soul singer Nat Brown, Country performers Six String Daisy and the Wayne Stevens Band, the 3rd Tuesday Jazz Band, Blues from the Gary Mendoza Band, Rock n Roll band Todd Morgan and the Emblems and 13 year old performer Zachary Schmidt.  In addition to the stage entertainment, guests have the opportunity to interact with Mark Twain, hear the sounds of a barbershop quartet and strum along with the Sacramento Banjo Band.

With more than 35 exhibitors on site, guests will have a chance to shop, stroll and appreciate the skills and craftsmanship of painters, sculptors, jewelers, wood workers, potters, and authors.  Food will be available for purchase on site or visit one of Old Town’s dining purveyors.

Admission and parking throughout Old Town is FREE.  For more information, visit, follow the City of Elk Grove on Facebook or Twitter, or call the City of Elk Grove at (916) 478.3632
