Youth Commission Scholarship Application

Accepting Applications April 15 to May 3, 2024 

The Elk Grove Youth Commission is sponsoring four scholarships for high school students in grades 9-12 who are residents of or attend high school in Elk Grove. The Commission wanted to use this year to recognize exceptional students who have excelled in their academics and give back to their community, as well as students who have done something impressive during the school year. 

 
The following are the scholarship categories: 

  • (2) $1,000 Community Impact Category – Students who have demonstrated resilience through improving themselves or their community (Two $1,000 scholarships will be awarded to 2 students in 12th grade) 
  • (1) $500 Community Impact Category - Students who have demonstrated resilience through improving themselves or their community (One $500 scholarship will be awarded to a student in grades 9-11) 
  • (1) $500 Merit Youth Category – Seeks students who have demonstrated excellence both in their school and throughout the community (one $500 scholarship will be awarded to one student in grades 9-11) 

 
During the application review process, the committee will not be able to view your name, email, and other identifiers, only your answers and grade level. We are looking forward to reading your responses!

The scholarship requires transcripts, one (1) letter of recommendation (Teacher), and a High School Transcript (Unofficial) and Academic resume to be submitted.
Senior Community Impact Scholarship

The Senior Community Impact Scholarship is given to a senior student in the Elk Grove region who has demonstrated resilience by striving to improve themselves or their community. All submissions will be anonymous and reviewed by a panel of students in the City of Elk Grove Youth Commission. Good luck!
