The Preserve

The City Council awarded a construction contract on May 13, 2020 to Goodland Landscape Construction. Construction started in August 2020 and the current construction schedule shows substantial completion in October 2021.

The Preserve will be mostly passive park space and include habitat restoration of wetlands, native grasslands and preservation and expansion of the native oak forest. Site amenities will include a network of trails, benches, picnic tables, wetland area overlooks, open meadow, outdoor exercise equipment, play equipment, a restroom, picnic area, and interpretive signs to create a serene gathering place at the heart of our community.

The City of Elk Grove received a $3 million Land Water Conservation Fund Grant by California State Parks, which will be applied to the construction cost.
