Become a Vendor

The Multicultural Festival extends a limited number of booth spaces to community non-profit organizations in the following categories:

  • Cultural Education Booth: Non-profit organizations that promote awareness and education of the lifestyles, customs, or practices of one or more cultural group.
  • Faith-Based Education: Non-profit organizations that promote awareness or services available from a faith-based organization
  • Community Service: Non-profit organizations providing community services and/or programs within the City of Elk Grove.
  • Health and Wellness: Non-profit organizations providing health related services, information, and/or educational material
  • Government Agencies, Officials, Schools and Universities: Government agencies, government officials, and public and private schools or universities identifying services available from these entities or officials. Booths that support or oppose the approval or rejection of a ballot measure, or the election or defeat of a candidate, are not permitted.
  • Craft Vendor: This category is limited to individuals or businesses that hand craft culturally relevant products. If the product is not hand-crafted, it is not eligible. Proof of craftsmanship may be required.
  • Kids Activity Vendor: This category is limited to businesses that provide face painting, balloon twisting, or similar entertainment services.

Festival Information

  • This is a juried event and space will be limited. Exhibitors will be selected based on the date their completed application was received, type of products offered, cultural relevance, and the need to achieve a balance of available products at the event.
  • Whenever vendors offering the same product type are vying for space, preference will be weighted to favor Elk Grove based businesses.
  • Submission of a exhibitor application does not constitute acceptance into the event. Event management will communicate exhibitor selections to all applicants the week following the application deadline.
  • Booth sizes are approximately 10'x10' and situated on the grass. Placement of exhibitors is pre-assigned and made at the discretion of Event Management. Placement decisions are non-negotiable. Electricity is not available. No generators allowed.
  • Vendors accepted into the Event will be required to submit insurance documentation in accordance with the parameters set by the City’s Risk Management Office. Those who fail to comply with these requirements and submission deadlines will be dropped from the vendor lineup.
  • This event takes place regardless of weather conditions. Vendors who fail to provide 24 hour notice of cancellation will become ineligible for participation at future City events.
  • Once accepted, exhibitor payments are non-refundable.

Exhibitor Responsibilities

  • Exhibitors selling taxable items are responsible for acquiring a seller’s permit through the California State Board of Equalization and a City of Elk Grove Business License; a copy of licenses/ permits must be posted at your booth. Exhibitors are responsible for submitting their own resale taxes.
  • Form BOE 410-D Swap Meets, Flea Markets, or Special Events Certification from the Board of Equalization (attached) must be completed and turned in with application if selling merchandise.
  • Exhibitors are required to supply their own tents, tables, and chairs (no generators are allowed).
  • Tables and booths must be set up by 9am on the day of the event. Exhibitors must vacate by 7pm on the day of event.
  • All fire codes, laws, and regulations pertinent to health, fire prevention, and public safety shall be strictly obeyed.
  • Exhibitor agrees to allow the City to take photos of your booth and product during the Event, for no additional compensation. Photos taken of your product/booth may be used in City promotions.
  • Exhibitor/staff/employees/agents shall comply with all exhibitor policies. Failure to comply can result in expulsion from event without a refund.
