Get ready, Elk Grove! The National Weather Service expects our next major storm to arrive Thursday night with the heaviest rain on Friday. Rainfall of 1” to 1.5” inches with wind gusts reaching 40-45 MPH is predicted.
In preparation for the storm, the City will open two sandbag stations tomorrow, March 8, while supplies last. Elk Grove residents and businesses can receive up to 10 free sandbags at these sites. These are self-serve sites. Bring proof of address and a shovel. Sand and sandbags are provided. Property owners who need more than 10 are encouraged to visit local home improvement stores to secure the supplies they may need.
