The regional stay home order will remain in effect for at least three weeks. After that period, it will be lifted when a region’s projected ICU capacity meets or exceeds 15%. This will be assessed on a weekly basis after the initial three week period. Original order in place 12/10/20 and updated 01/12/21.

Webinar About the COVID-19 Vaccine
Local physician and Cosumnes Fire Department Medical Director, Dr. Kevin Mackey, provides an overview into the science and history behind vaccinations during a free webinar held on Thursday, January 7. Learn more about the vaccines created specifically to combat COVID-19. Dr. Mackey will address the common concerns and frequently asked questions about the new COVID-19 vaccines. This webinar is presented in partnership by the City of Elk Grove and Cosumnes Community Services District.
What is the City Doing?
As both an employer and a local government agency, the City is implementing the following measures in response to COVID-19:
- Updates from the Mayor.
- COVID-19 Response and Recovery Programs and Activities.
- Participating in conference calls with the county and regional response agencies to stay up to date and prepared to implement strategies to protect and inform the community.
- Sharing information with residents through our communication channels.
- Postponing or canceling non-essential events. Learn about event changes.
- Increasing the frequency and intensity of public transit bus cleaning with our transit contractor, SacRT.

- City staff who can work from home are doing so and those employees who are at City facilities are adhering to social distancing guidelines.
- Public spaces at City Hall are being wiped down and disinfected at higher frequencies to prevent the spread of germs.
- The City intends to provide as many services as possible to our residents. Staff phones and emails will also be monitored remotely. Residents can also report many issues through our website.
- Elk Grove Police Department continues to address health order violations related to COVID-19. Officers are focused on educating people on the restrictions. To report a business violation, call 3-1-1. For residential or park use violations, contact the EGPD non-emergency number at (916) 714-5115.
- Animal Services Officers will respond to emergency calls for service including dangerous dogs, sick or injured animals, police assistance, animals creating a hazard, bite reports, animal cruelty investigations, domestic animals in the roadway and dead animal disposal.
