Project Purpose and Overview
The purpose of this project is to rehabilitate or repave portions of Waterman Road and Elk Grove Florin Road while also adding class II (on-street) bike lanes. The City will design and construct a mid-block pedestrian crossing with a rectangular rapid flashing beacon along Elk Grove-Florin Road north of Valley Oak Lane. The project also includes upgrading curb ramps to Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards. Future connectivity will be made possible along Waterman Road for the City's bike lane network, while reducing annual pavement maintenance costs, extending the life of the road pavement, and improving ride quality.
