The City of Elk Grove invites local, regional and national artists and/or artist teams to submit their qualifications for a variety of projects for the city’s Civic Center and Animal Shelter. The deadline for submissions is Thursday, November 8, 2018, at 4:00 p.m.
The City has issued a request for qualifications (RFQ) for the following artwork:
- A sculpture representing “music” for the Civic Center’s Commons ($25,000 budget);
- An outdoor installation at the entrance of the Animal Shelter ($110,000 budget);
- Interior artwork to be installed in the Animal Shelter lobby ($42,000 budget); and
- Sequenced interior wall hangings for the adoption hallway of the Animal Shelter ($36,000 budget).
Public art is paid for by the City’s Percent for the Arts program. This program sets aside a percentage of public construction project funding to support public art.
