Nature Area

The nature area to include a playground, large grass area, a pond, jogging trails, fitness area, overlook points, a kinetic art sculpture and much more.

The Nature Area is envisioned as passive park space, a peaceful oasis in the center of the city. The project will include habitat restoration of wetlands, native grasslands, and preservation and expansion of the native oak forest.

Site amenities will include a network of trails, benches, picnic tables, wetland area overlooks, open meadow, outdoor exercise equipment, play equipment, and interpretive signs to create a serene gathering place at the heart of our community.

Construction will begin Summer 2020.  The City of Elk Grove received an award of a $3 million Land Water Conservation Fund Grant by California State Parks.
