Students Encouraged to Attend October 22 Event

Elk Grove, CA – Students can weigh in on City priorities while earning community service credit during the 6th annual Teen Town Hall Forum hosted by the Elk Grove Youth Commission.  The Forum is scheduled on Thursday, October 22 at the City Hall Council Chambers beginning at 6:00 pm.

The Teen Town Hall Forum is aimed at helping Elk Grove teens express their concerns and opinions about issues in the community.  Information gathered at the meeting will help the Youth Commission determine priorities and plan future programs and projects for the remainder of the school year.  Previous forums have addressed topics like cybersafety, bullying, health and wellness, and substance abuse.

The Youth Commission provides recommendations and information to the City Council and public-at-large on behalf of the youth in Elk Grove.  The goal of the Youth Commission is to promote more youth involvement in leadership, government and the community.

The Teen Town Hall Forum is a free event that offers student participants an opportunity to contribute while they earn community service hours that fulfill their graduation requirements.
