Utility Billing
Avoid Unnecessary Late Fees on your Utility Account
If you pay your City of Elk Grove utility bill through online banking, you could be incurring late fees if your account number is not entered correctly or the check is being mailed to the wrong address.
Please verify that your account number is entered exactly as it is shown on your bill, including the dash: 12345-67890. Payments with an incomplete or incorrect account number cannot be immediately credited to your account and must be forwarded for manual processing. This could take several days, resulting in late fees even though your payment was mailed on time.
The correct mailing address is: City of Elk Grove Payment Processing, P.O. Box 45803, San Francisco, CA 94145-0803. Only payments mailed to that address will be immediately credited to your account. Payments mailed to any other address will require manual processing, resulting in a delay and potential late fees.
Please take a moment to verify that your account number and mailing address are correct when you do your online banking.
NOTE: IF YOU HAVE BEEN NOTIFIED THAT YOUR SERVICE IS BEING SUSPENDED DUE TO NON-PAYMENT, YOU MUST NOTIFY OUR UTILITY BILLING DEPARTMENT AT 916-478-3642 IF YOU ARE PAYING YOUR BILL IN FULL. ANY PAYMENTS MADE WITHOUT NOTIFICATION WILL DELAY THE REINSTATEMENT OF YOUR SERVICE AND MAY RESULT IN AN ADDITIONAL $50 FEE IF YOUR CARTS ARE PICKED UP AND REDELIVERED.
