City of Elk Grove Accepting Applications for Two (2) Vacancies on the Disability Advisory Committee
The City of Elk Grove is seeking applications to fill two vacancies on the Disability Advisory Committee. Applicants must have an interest in the City and disability issues. Members must reside within the City of Elk Grove or be primarily employed in a disability field within Sacramento County. Committee members will meet monthly or as needed to achieve the committee objective. This committee will act in an advisory capacity to the City Council.
Deadline to submit applications is April 30, 2008 or until such time sufficient applications have been received.
APPLICATIONS: Applications may be obtained from and returned to the Office of the City Clerk, 8380 Laguna Palms Way, Suite 200, Elk Grove, CA 95758. Applications are also available on the City’s website www.elkgrovecity.org. Applications may be mailed or hand-delivered to the City Clerk. The application should include a statement of the prospective member’s interests and the name, title, address and telephone number. The application should also describe the person’s qualifications and experience.
COMMITTEE’S SCOPE: Issues relate to persons with disabilities and the City’s compliance with laws and regulations applicable to the disabled; Review the accessibility of services, programs, facilities and/or employment of City departments; review relevant City policies, guidelines, procedures, reports and State or Federal legislation; Act as liaison to community groups, governmental agencies, and individuals in addressing disability issues related to the City of Elk Grove; Review and make recommendations to the City Council with regard to legislative policy.
After the applications have been reviewed, the appointing Council Member will appoint a Committee member.
