City of Elk Grove Accepting Applications for One (1) Vacancy on the Historic Preservation Committee
The City of Elk Grove is currently accepting applications for one (1) vacancy on the seven member Historic Preservation Committee.
The Historic Preservation Committee, established by City of Elk Grove City Council Ordinance No. 3-2007, establishes the powers and duties of the committee, the committee structure, member qualifications and term.
Applicants must be at least 18 years of age, reside in the City of Elk Grove and be registered to vote. Members may not be an officer or employee of the City. The current vacancy is for a professional in the disciplines of history, architecture, architectural history, planning, pre-historic and historic archeology, folklore, cultural anthropology, curation, conservation and landscape architecture or related disciplines such as urban planning American studies, American civilization, or cultural geography, to the extent such professionals are available in the community.
Committee members are subject to conflicts of interest laws applicable to appointed government officials.
Fact Sheet and application are available at the Office of the City Clerk, 8380 Laguna Palms Way, Ste. 200, Elk Grove, California 95758 and are posted on the City’s website at www.elkgrovecity.org. Applications may be mailed or hand-delivered to the City Clerk. The application should include a statement of the prospective member’s interests and the name, title, address and telephone number. The application should also describe the person’s qualifications and experience. Following application review, the City Council will make the appointment.
Deadline to submit applications is March 28, 2008 or until such time sufficient applications have been received.
