Laguna Rescue 2008Laguna Rescue 2008 will be a test of the Sacramento County region’s public safety agencies’ ability to respond and recover from a large scale active-shooter event on Wednesday, March 19, 2008. This full-scale law enforcement exercise is sponsored by the Sacramento Regional Office of Homeland Security, the Elk Grove Police Department, the Elk Grove Unified School District and numerous safety partners.

The event will include a simulated active-shooter scenario at Laguna Creek High School. In order to make the event a success, the exercise will include a volunteer cast of high school students, parents and school staff to role play as actors or extras in this simulation. Please know that the event will involve simulated casualties and fatalities.

Volunteers are asked to attend a mandatory training meeting at Laguna Creek High School prior to the event on either Thursday, March 6 at 3:30 p.m. or on Saturday, March 8 at 10 a.m.

On March 19, volunteers will be asked to be at Laguna Creek High School, 9050 Vicino Drive, by 7 a.m. The event is expected to last until about 3 p.m. Lunch will be provided. If you would like to participate in this exercise, please click on the link below.
