On May 4th, the City of Elk Grove hosted a groundbreaking celebration for its new full-service Aquatics Center. The project, which is anticipated to be completed in Summer 2018, includes a combination of pools designed to serve competitive aquatics, instruction, water fitness, and family recreation. Specific features include a 50-meter pool, a fitness and instructional pool, and a recreational pool.

Located on the south side of Elk Grove Boulevard and east of Big Horn Boulevard, the Aquatics Center will be part of the City's new Civic Center, which will serve as a community hub for events and other outdoor activities. The construction of the Aquatics Center will also include all of the site work for the Phase 1 Civic Center, including parking and the Commons, an outdoor activity and event space.
