Manufacturing firm Universal Custom Display was recently evaluating options for more space, which may have included moving out of Elk Grove.  The City’s Economic Development and Planning Departments quickly worked with the company to obtain City approvals to construct a new 5,200 square foot outdoor canopy structure.  The structure will provide the company critical outdoor storage and logistics space in order to expand its operations, which will allow it to remain in the City.  The City also provided a $5,200 incentive grant to offset permit fees.  Universal Custom Display, located on Elkmont Way, makes retail displays for major national brands, and employs over 200 people.
Elk Grove will soon get its fourth micro-brewery, as startup company Dreaming Dog Brewery is slated to move into retail space in the Stonelake Landing shopping center on West Taron Court.  Dreaming Dog will occupy 6,000 SF and will open later this year.  The City is providing the company a $5,000 grant through its Brewery & Winery Incentive & Assistance Program, and $10,845 in sewer fee credits.
