Public Input Sought at Pop-Up Workshop during Food Truck Mania Event on September 2

Elk Grove, Calif. -- Have you ever attended Food Truck Mania, the Dickens Street Faire, or the Chili Festival in Old Town?  If so, then you’ve visited the space commonly referred to as the Old Town Plaza.

The Elk Grove City Council recently directed staff to plan, design, and develop a public space on the northern section of this city-owned parcel on Railroad Street between Elk Grove Boulevard and Grove Street.  Staff will host a pop-up workshop at the monthly Food Truck Mania event on September 2 to hear what improvements residents think are most important for the future public use of this site.  Participants will have the opportunity to view some possible design options and share their ideas while eating great food and enjoying live music.

The workshop is the first step toward a design that will eventually be presented for approval by the City Council.  For more information about the project, please contact the City’s Planning Department at (916) 478-2265.
