Artists or art enthusiasts are encouraged to apply for a vacancy on the City’s Committee for the Arts.  Members of this committee recommend locations and the installation of art pieces in City owned facilities through an annual budget appropriation.  This Committee also provides recommendations to the City Council for arts and entertainment with the City of Elk Grove and maintains a dialogue with regional and local entities interested in arts and entertainment.  Monthly meetings are held on the third Thursday of each month at 6:30 p.m. in the conference room at 8380 Laguna Palms Way.

Applicants for Historic Preservation or Disability Advisory Committee must be at least 18 years old and registered voters residing in Elk Grove.  Applicants for the Committee for the Arts must simply live in Elk Grove.  Positions on these committees are voluntary and no compensation is provided.  Applications are available on the City’s web site at www.elkgrovecity.org/serve or within the City Clerk’s Office located at 8401 Laguna Palms Way.  Applications received on or before the advertised deadline will be considered for appointment by the Mayor, with approval by the City Council.
